synopsis
Two intertwining stories which center around a brother and sister from a poor village forced to pursue different paths: the brother, Nimal joins the police, who are constantly beset by offscreen social upheaval involving teenage terrorists; meanwhile the girl, Sirima, is loaned out to a lecherous fisherman, Gunapala, by her inept drunken father.
